7. DISCUSSION AND/OR POSSIBLE ACTION ON A COMPREHENSIVE\nASSESSMENT REGARDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICE BODY-WORN\nCAMERA PROGRAM\nIT IS RECOMMENDED THAT CITY COUNCIL:\n1. Receive and File the report regarding the comprehensive assessment of a Police\nBody-Worn Camera (BWC) Program; or\n2. Direct staff to establish a multidisciplinary workgroup consisting of\nrepresentatives from Administration, Police Administration, the Police Officers’\nAssociation, City Clerk’s Office, Human Resources, Information Technology,\nFinance, and other relevant stakeholders. The workgroup will evaluate the\nfeasibility, operational considerations, and financial impacts of implementing a\nBWC program and develop a detailed proposal, including recommendations for\nCouncil’s consideration, to be presented within 60 days; or\n3. Authorize staff to initiate procurement and preparation for the implementation of\na Police Body-Worn Camera Program, with the goal of deploying the program at\nthe start of the 2025-2026 fiscal year, contingent upon Council’s final approval\nof the implementation plan and associated budgetary allocations.\nCITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENEDS
