F.4. RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF VEGANUARY [C. BYERS, Y. QUARKER, A.\nLOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider adopting a resolution supporting\nVeganuary in West Hollywood, which encourages employees, residents, and local\nbusinesses to participate by eating plant-based during the month of January.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Adopt Resolution No. 24-_________: “A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\nSUPPORTING VEGANUARY;” 2) Direct the Communications Department to\nutilize all appropriate communication tools to promote Veganuary including, but\nnot limited to, the City's website, a news release, and social media tools; 3) Direct\nthe Economic Development Department to reach out to local businesses,\nrestaurants, and stakeholders to encourage widespread participation in\nVeganuary, highlighting the environmental and health benefits of this initiative; 4)\nDirect the Administrative Services Department to encourage City staff to\nparticipate in a workplace challenge for Veganuary; and 5) Authorize the Director\nof Finance & Technology Services to allocate $2,500 from budgeted funds in the\nSpecial Council Programs account number 100-1-01-00-531001 for costs\nassociated with promoting this campaign.
