F.2. CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD’S RESPONSE TO THE PRESIDENTIAL\nELECTION [J. HEILMAN, J. ERICKSON, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL\nTORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will reaffirm the City’s core values and direct staff to\nprepare responses to anticipated action by the new presidential administration.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Reaffirm West Hollywood’s core values of respect and\ninclusion for all people, especially those who have faced discrimination and\nmarginalization and other vulnerable members of our community; 2) Direct the\nCity Manager to reconvene a staff working group to respond to proposed actions\nby the new presidential administration that may contravene the City’s core values;\n3) Authorize the Mayor and/or City Manager to send letters on behalf of the City\nregarding policies, programs, and appointments that are contrary to the City’s\ncore values and legislative priorities; 4) Authorize the City Attorney, at the City\nAttorney's discretion and authority, to join the City of West Hollywood as amicus\nsupport (friends of the court) when requested in cases challenging actions from\nthe presidential administration that are inconsistent with the City’s core value or\nlegislative priorities; and 5) Direct staff to evaluate developing new programming\nand additional services in the case of programs being reduced or eliminated by\nthe new presidential administration.
