PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED SOLID WASTE RATES AND ADOPTION OF\nA RESOLUTION APPROVING NEW SOLID WASTE RATES FOR THE COLLECTION,\nTRANSFER, TRANSPORTATION, RECYCLING, PROCESSING, AND DISPOSAL OF\nSOLID WASTE, INCLUDING ORGANIC WASTE, COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2025,\nAND MAKING A DETERMINATION OF EXEMPTION UNDER THE CALIFORNIA\nENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT\nRecommendation\nIt is recommended that the City Council conduct a public hearing on the proposed solid\nwaste rates and determine whether there is a majority protest against the proposed rate\nincreases and if no majority protest exists, adopt a resolution establishing new solid\nwaste rates effective January 1, 2025. If a majority protest exists, the City Council should\ndiscuss and direct staff on how to proceed with the next steps.\nACTION/DISCUSSION
