8. City Council: Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution 24-494\nauthorizing the City to apply for two separate grant funding\nopportunities to prepare an Active Transportation Plan; one\nis a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)\nSustainable Communities grant, in the amount of $650,000,\nin which the match amount would be $74,555, and the\nother is a San Diego Association of Governments\n(SANDAG) Smart Growth Incentive Program grant, in the\namount of $650,000, in which the match amount would also\nbe $74,555; and authorize the City Manager to execute all\nnecessary grant documents. As further described below,\nonly one of these grants is needed and staff intends to\naccept the first funding opportunity made available.
