6. NIB: MAIN STREET, FOURTH STREET, AND MISSION ROAD SEWER MAIN\nREPLACEMENT PROJECT - PHASE 1 – F2M22-53, N2M23-31\nOn December 12, 2022, the City Council rejected the bids received for the Main Street,\nFourth Street, and Mission Road Sewer Main Replacement Project due to the bids being\nhigher than the amount of funds available. Staff worked with the Design Engineers to\nreduce the scope of the project and now recommends the project be re-advertised in two\nphases. The first phase will be on Mission Road (from Fourth Street to Garfield Avenue)\nand Fourth Street (from Mission Road to Commonwealth Avenue). Phase 1 of the Project\nwill replace approximately 3,350 feet of existing 8-inch - 12-inch sewer main to 18-inch -\n21-inch sewer main. Plans and specifications have been prepared. Staff has reviewed the\nplans and found them to be consistent with the City’s standards.\n3\n3-13-23\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Main Street, Fourth Street, and Mission Road Sewer Main\nReplacement Project – Phase 1 with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on March 30, 2023,\nand opened at 11:00 a.m. that same day.
