12. NOTICE OF COMPLETION: PURCHASE OF SHADE STRUCTURES FOR ALHAMBRA\nAND GRANADA PARK POOLS – F2M22-6B, C2M22-10, M2M23-34\nOn March 14, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to Pacific Play Systems Inc. for\nthe Alhambra Pools Shade Structure Project in the amount of $249,500.00. There were\ntwo change orders totaling $24,009.25 for the project for additional drilling due to finding\nwater lines and to move one shade from Granada Pool to Alhambra Pool due to finding\nunforeseen concrete in the excavation process. The total amount of the contract is\n$273.509.25. This project has been inspected by staff, and all work has been completed\nin accordance with the City’s requirements and specifications. As such, it would be\nappropriate for the City Council to accept this project as complete.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the work of Pacific Play Systems Inc. for\nthe Alhambra Pools Shade Structure Project as complete in the amount of $273,509.25;\ndirect the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles for\nrecordation; instruct the Finance Director to release the 5 percent retention 35 days from\nthe date of recordation if no liens are filed; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
