13.d AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CIP 424 ANNUAL 1262\nSTORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS - 25-PW-002\nCEQA: Determine the Annual Storm Drain Improvements project is\nexempt from the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to CEQA\nGuidelines Section 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction). The\nproposed work is replacement or reconstruction of existing utility\nsystems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.\n(Public Works Director Joe SanClemente)\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends City Council:\n1. Award a construction contract for CIP 424 Annual Storm Drain\nImprovements to PALP, Inc. dba Excel Paving Company in the\namount of $212,260 (Attachment 1);\n2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to establish a project\ncontingency amount of $50,000 and to approve contract\nchange orders up to the amount of the approved contract\ncontingency;\n3. Adopt the attached resolution entitled “A Resolution of the City\nCouncil of the City of Hermosa Beach Approving the\nConstruction of CIP 424 Annual Storm Drain Improvements\nPursuant to Government Code Section 830.6 and Establishing\na Project Payment Account” (Attachment 2);\n4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the construction contract and\nthe City Clerk to attest, subject to approval by the City Attorney;\nand\n5. Authorize the Director of Public Works to file a Notice of\nCompletion following completion of the project.
