5. CITY COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATE REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF THE\nBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN – F2M22-\n33,\nOn February 28, 2023, Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Improvement Plan\nSubcommittee Members, Jeff Maloney and Sasha Renée Pérez, met with City staff and\nthe City’s consultant on the Plan, Alta Planning + Design, to receive an update on the\nPlan’s development. Over the last several months Alta Planning + Design collected traffic\nand collision information and engaged the community on existing bicycle and pedestrian\nneeds and concerns. As a result of this outreach work, which included surveys, site walks,\nbike and walk audits, an interactive map, virtual workshops, pop-up information booths at\nschools, parks, and the Joslyn Center, and a meeting with the Transportation Commission\non March 8, 2023, Alta Planning + Design will now move into data analysis to develop the\nCity’s bicycle plan network and bicycle/pedestrian recommendations/enhancements. This\nevening, the Council Subcommittee Members will report on the Plan’s progress. Once\nAlta Planning + Design completes the analysis and provides a Draft Plan, the community\nwill be invited to provide additional feedback on the Draft Plan before its final adoption.\nRecommended Action: City Council receive and order filed this informational report.\nCONSENT AGENDA (Item Nos. 6 – 18)\nAll items listed under the Consent Agenda are considered by the City Council to be routine and\nwill be enacted by one motion unless a citizen or Council member requests otherwise; in which\ncase, the item will be removed for separate consideration.
