7.d. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 25-002,\nAPPROVING FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT SERVICES\nAGREEMENT WITH WEST & ASSOCIATES ENGINEERING, INC. TO\nPROVIDE CONSTRUCTION PHASE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR SAFE\nROUTES TO SCHOOL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY PROJECT, ATP CYCLE\n5, ATPL-5352(023)\nOn November 12, 2024, the City Council awarded a construction contract\nto Toro Enterprises in the amount of $1,794,169.80, and the construction\nwork is scheduled to start in January 2025. The project involves\ninstallation of pedestrian safety upgrades at signalized intersections and\nuncontrolled crosswalks including RRFBs, pedestrian push buttons,\ncountdown systems, overhead pedestrian signal systems, speed radar\nfeedback signs, pedestrian ramps, signage, crosswalks and striping\naround schools and major destinations. The project plans, specifications\nand estimates were prepared by West & Associates Engineering, Inc. Staff\nseeks City Council approval of a First Amendment to the Contract\nServices Agreement with West & Associates Engineering, Inc. to provide\nconstruction phase support services during construction.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt Resolution No. 25-002, approving First Amendment to the\nContract Services Agreement with West & Associates Engineering,\nInc. to provide Construction Phase Support Services for Safe\nRoutes To School Pedestrian Safety Project in the amount of\n$15,000;\n2. Appropriate $15,000 of Measure M Local funds to the project for the\nproposed additional services; and\n3. Authorize City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute the\nagreement.
