F. APPROVAL AND ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS FOR $10,000 FROM\nDESERT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN 8-FOOT\nWURLITZER POST HORN RANK, AND FOR $400 FROM THE BOARD OF\nSUPERVISORS REVOLVING FUND FOR HOLIDAY PROGRAMMING; AND\nADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 24-04 FOR A TOTAL BUDGET INCREASE\nOF $10,400\nThe City Council has been requested to accept two different donations for the\nCommunity Services Department. One is the acceptance of a donation of\n$10,000 from the Peter Lloyd Crotty Fund through the Desert Community\nFoundation for the purchase of an 8-foot Wurlitzer Post Horn Rank for the\nMission Playhouse. The second is for the acceptance of a $400 donation from\nSupervisor Solis for holiday programming. The generous donation from the\nDesert Community Foundation of $10,000 combined with the previous\ndonation overage of $500 from Mr. Crotty will entirely cover the cost of the 8\nFeet Wurlitzer Post Horn Rank (61 pipes), as well as the shipping cost from\nCentury Pipe Organs. There will be no additional installation cost as the\ninstallation will be done in-house by Maintenance Leadsperson Josh Fairman\nand expert Wurlitzer restoration volunteers. The donation of $400 from the Los\nAngeles Board of Supervisors will be allocated to the Community Services\nDepartment to help offset the costs for the senior holiday programming.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Accept the donation of $10,000 from the Desert Community Foundation\ninto the Donation Account #152-329 and increase appropriations in the\nExpenditure Account #124-712-35-96-840 for the same amount. Staff\nfurther recommends, noting the unique nature this project and the rarity of\nthe equipment needed, that the City Council waive the formal bid process\nand authorize the purchase of the Wurlitzer Post Horn Rank from Century\nPipe Organs. This would be consistent with the San Gabriel Municipal Code\nSection 34.35 C, which exempts certain specialty items from the normal\nprocurement policies.\n2. Accept the donation of $400 from the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors\nrevolving fund into Donation Account #173-3920 and increase\nappropriations in Community Services expenditures account #173-850-18-\n23-048 for the same amount.\n3. Adopt Resolution No. 25-04 memorializing the above budget adjustments.
