F.7. COMMUNITY CLEANUP EVENTS [C. BYERS, J. ERICKSON, Y. QUARKER,\nA. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider sponsoring a series of community\ncleanup events, each focusing on a specific area within the City of West\nHollywood. The community cleanup events will be an opportunity for residents,\nbusinesses, and other stakeholders to volunteer to serve the community, to pick\nup litter, to engage with one another, and to address community beautification\nneeds.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve the sponsorship of a series of community\ncleanup events, focusing on specific areas within the City of West Hollywood, to\ntake place during spring and summer 2025; 2) Direct staff to coordinate the\ncommunity cleanup events in partnership with residents, businesses,\nneighborhood watch groups, and other stakeholders interested in volunteering;\n3) Direct the Communications Department to utilize all appropriate\ncommunication tools to promote the events including, but not limited to, the\nCity’s website, a press release, and social media tools; 4) Authorize the Director\nof Finance and Technology Services to allocate $4,000 from unallocated\nGeneral Fund reserves to the Special Council Programs Account 100-1-01-00-\n531001, and increase the budget for Special Council Programs by the same\namount; and 5) Authorize the Director of Finance & Technology Services to\nallocate $4,000 from budgeted funds in the Special Council Programs account\nnumber 100-1-01-00-531001 for costs associated with supplies for the\ncommunity cleanup events.
