HOLD THE SECOND READING OF AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CALIFORNIA\nPUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF\nSTANTON - APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE NO. 1129\nThis Ordinance was introduced at the regular City Council meeting of February 14,\n2023. The City Council will hold the second reading of Ordinance No. 1129 to amend\nthe California Public Employees’ Retirement System Contract with the City of Stanton to\nremove the exclusion language for persons compensated on an hourly basis and to\nprovide for the exclusions of the Intern, Park Ranger, Recreation Leader, and Senior\nRecreation Leader positions.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Clerk read the title of Ordinance No. 1129, entitled:\n“AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON\nAUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE\nCITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON AND THE BOARD OF\nADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’\nRETIREMENT SYSTEM TO REMOVE THE CONTRACT PROVISION\nEXCLUDING FROM CALPERS MEMBERSHIP “PERSONS\nCOMPENSATED ON AN HOURLY BASIS” PROSPECTIVELY,\nPURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTIONS 20305 AND 20503”;\nand\n2. City Council adopt Ordinance No. 1129.
