6H. AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE STANTON CITY HALL FIRE\nALARM UPGRADE PROJECT\nThe existing fire alarm system at Stanton City Hall is due for an upgrade as the system\nis no longer compliant with the current Fire Code and long past its life expectancy. City\nstaff is recommending award of contract to Climatec, LLC to provide design and\nconstruction services to upgrade City Hall’s Fire Alarm System.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that the project is categorically exempt under the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (“CEQA”), Class 1, Section 15301(a) as alteration of\nexisting public facilities; and\n2. Waive the competitive bidding requirements in the City’s purchasing policy for this\nprocurement; and\n3. Award a construction contract to Climatec, LLC to provide professional engineering\nand construction services to upgrade the fire alarm system for the amount of\n$182,376; and\n4. Authorize the City Manager to bind the City of Stanton and Climatec, LLC in a\ncontract for the project; and\n5. Authorize the City Manager to approve contract change orders, not to exceed\n$17,500.\nEND OF CONSENT CALENDAR
