CONSIDERATION OF REJECTION OF BID AND AUTHORIZATION TO\nRE-ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SYSTEMIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS\nAT SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS, HSIPL-5352(025), CITY PROJECT\nNO. 607\nThe City received a single bid for the Systemic Safety Improvements at\nSignalized Intersections Project (“City Project No. 607”), the bid contained\na discrepancy. Due to the discrepancy, staff recommends that the City\nCouncil approve the rejection of the bid and authorize staff to re-advertise\nthe project.\nCity Project No. 607 involves installation of raised pavement markers,\nstriping, pedestrian crosswalks, and traffic signal adjustments\n(implementation of leading pedestrian interval (LPI)) at various signalized\nintersections. Due to a discrepancy in the bid received, staff seeks City\nCouncil approval to reject the bid and authorize staff to re-advertise the\nproject.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council reject the bid\nand authorize the re-advertisement of the construction bid package for the\nSystemic Safety Improvements at Signalized Intersections Project.
