F.5. RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF LUNAR NEW YEAR [D. HANG, Y.\nQUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider adopting a Resolution recognizing\nLunar New Year and directing Staff to add Lunar New Year to the list of multi-\ncultural holidays for annual recognition.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Adopt Resolution No. 25-______: “A RESOLUTION\nOF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\nRECOGNIZING LUNAR NEW YEAR;” 2) Direct Community and Legislative\nAffairs staff to send copies of the Resolution to Senators Alex Padilla and Adam\nSchiff, Representative Laura Friedman, California Governor Gavin Newsom,\nCalifornia State Senator Ben Allen, and California Assembly Member Rick\nChavez Zbur, and others as deemed appropriate; 3) Direct Staff to add Lunar New\nYear to the City’s list of multi-cultural holidays for annual recognition; and 4) Direct\nthe Communications Department to utilize all appropriate communication tools to\nraise awareness about Lunar New Year including, but not limited to, the City’s\nwebsite and social media tools.\nCity Council Agenda\nFebruary 3, 2025\nPage 13
