6.1 Consideration of Ordinance No. 955 Amending Title 9 (Zoning\nand Planning Regulations) Bell Gardens Municipal Code to\nextend Public Noticing for Zoning Ordinances from 10 to 20\ndays in Compliance with new State Law\nRECOMMENDATION: It is staff’s recommendation that the City\nCouncil waive full reading and introduce Ordinance No. 955, by title\nonly, amending Title 9 (Zoning and Planning) of the Bell Gardens\nMunicipal Code (BGMC) to amend public noticing provisions for\nzoning ordinances to comply with State Law.\nCONCLUSION: The implementation of Ordinance No. 955 would\ncomply with AB 2904, a state mandate, expanding noticing\nrequirements and promoting public participation.\nFISCAL IMPACT: None. State law previously required the City\nprovide a 10 day notice for a public hearing.
