25. Annual and On-Call Soft-Bottom Channel Facility Clearing Services\nContract\nRecommendation: Award and authorize the Director of Public Works to execute\na contract with International Environmental Corporation, for annual and on-call\nsoft-bottom channel facility clearing services within the west maintenance area\nof the County (1, 3 and 5), for a term of one year, with four one-year and six\nmonth-to-month extension options, for a maximum potential contract term of 66\nmonths, and a maximum potential contract amount of $2,164,653; find that the\ncontract work is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act; and\nauthorize the Director of Public Works to take the following actions:\n(Department of Public Works) APPROVE\nRenew the contract for each renewal option and extension period if, in\nthe opinion of the Director, International Environmental Corporation has\nsuccessfully performed during the previous contract period, and services\nare still required, approve and execute amendments to incorporate\nnecessary changes within the scope of work, and suspend work, if it is in\nthe best interest of the County to do so; and\nAnnually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the\nannual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount, for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the\ncontract if required, and adjust the annual contract amount for each\nextension option year over the term of the contract to allow for an annual\nCost of Living Adjustment, in accordance with County policy and the\nterms of the contract.
