17.b RENAMING THE GREENBELT PEDESTRIAN TRAIL WITH A BENCH DEDICATED\nTO THE ACCESS HERMOSA WORKING GROUP AND IN MEMORIAM OF\nGEOFF HIRSCH AND CASEY ROHRER, AND RENAMING THE SOUTH PARK\nACCESSIBLE PLAYGROUND IN HONOR OF CASEY ROHRER - 25-CR-035\nCEQA: Approval of the renaming of the Greenbelt Pedestrian Trail and South Park\nAccessible Playground would be exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15304. The proposed renaming of\neach facility will have negligible or no permanent effect on the environment.\n(Community Resources Director Lisa Nichols)\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends City Council:\n1. Receive and file the Greenbelt Pedestrian Trail and South Park Accessible\nPlayground Renaming Joint Subcommittee (Subcommittee) Report\n(Attachment 1);\n2. Adopt a resolution renaming the Greenbelt Pedestrian Trail from Pier\nAvenue to 8th Street to the Greenbelt Accessible Trail (Attachment 2);\n3. Approve the installation of a bench and plaque on the Greenbelt Pedestrian\nTrail dedicated to the Access Hermosa Working Group and in memoriam of\nGeoff Hirsch and Casey Rohrer; and\n4. Per the Parks, Recreation, and Community Resources Advisory\nCommission (Commission) recommendation:\na. Adopt a resolution renaming the South Park accessible playground in\nhonor of Casey Rohrer (Attachment 3); and\nb. Approve the installation of a commemorative plaque on an existing\nbench near the South Park accessible playground.
