14. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF ONE FRONT WHEEL LOADER FOR THE\nPUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT – F2M25-6B, C2M25-14, M2M25-48\nThe 2024/25 budget included replacing one front wheel loader. Staff seeks to purchase\nthe front wheel loader through a cooperative purchase agreement. Cooperative purchase\nis allowable per Alhambra Municipal Code Section 3.36.080(B)(3). On January 17, 2023,\nSourcewell opened four bids for the procurement of heavy construction equipment with\nrelated attachments and technology. Sourcewell awarded contract # 011723 to Caterpillar\ncontract on May 24, 2023 - a contract that does not expire until April 14, 2027. Per the\nSourcewell bid specifications, heavy construction equipment with related attachments can\nbe purchased. Staff recommends purchasing one front wheel loader utilizing this option.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract to Quinn Caterpillar, subject\nto final language approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, for the purchase of one\nfront wheel loader in the amount of $212,020.63; direct the Finance Director to allocate\nthe additional funding in the amount of $42,020.63 necessary to complete the purchase\nfrom the Equipment Fund Reserves; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize the Council’s action.
