13. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF ONE SKID STEER LOADER FOR THE PUBLIC\nWORKS DEPARMENT – F2M25-6B, C2M25-13, M2M25-47\nThe 2024-25 budget included replacing one skid steer loader. Staff seeks to purchase the\nskid steer loader through a cooperative purchase agreement to replace the aging\nequipment. Cooperative purchase is allowable per Alhambra Municipal Code Section\n3.36.080(B)(3). On January 17, 2023, Sourcewell opened four bids for the procurement of\nheavy construction equipment with related attachments and technology. Sourcewell\nawarded contract # 011723 to Caterpillar contract on May 24, 2023 - a contract that does\nnot expire until April 17, 2027. Per the Sourcewell bid specifications, heavy construction\nequipment with related attachments can be purchased. Staff recommends purchasing one\nskid steer loader utilizing this option.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract to Quinn Caterpillar, subject\nto final language approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, for the purchase of one\nCaterpillar skid steer loader in the amount of $83,295.73; direct the Finance Director to\nallocate the additional funding in the amount of $23,294.73 necessary to complete the\npurchase from the Equipment Fund Reserves; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize the Council’s action.
