10. EXECUTE CONTRACT FOR FISCAL YEARS 2025-26 AND 2026-27 WITH THE\nALHAMBRA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE– F2M21-43, C2M25-12, M2M25-44\nThe City has contracted with the Chamber of Commerce for many years to provide\npromotional services on behalf of the City. The services provided by the Chamber and\nproposed in this report support the business community, promote Alhambra, and\nencourage partnerships within the community. The following is a summary of the services\nthe Chamber of Commerce will be providing under the new contract: Participate with the\nCity to support business retention and economic development efforts including providing\nombudsman assistance between prospective and existing businesses and City staff; and\nregularly coordinate with property owners, commercial brokers, and developers to help\naddress vacancies; Serve as Alhambra’s central information office for the community to\npromote Alhambra as a destination for businesses, residents, tourists, and Chamber\nmembers and non-members; Provide business engagement and support including\nutilizing social media to promote business-to-business information; Provide special events\n- Alhambra State of the City and Women’s Leadership Luncheon (formerly the Rose Court\nLuncheon); Promote and host Alhambra’s Lunar New Year Celebration; Develop and\ndistribute guides, informational brochures, and digital assets including Alhambra Eats, a\nmarketing website for dining destinations; Provide business events and seminars to\nsupport business development and growth including Small Business Connects and\nAlhambra Ala Mode; and, Work with local schools to introduce students to local\nbusinesses, entrepreneurship and career opportunities including internship opportunities.\nThe current contract request is increased to $144,000 due to rising costs in event\ncoordination for the Alhambra Lunar New Year Celebration. The tasks outlined in the\nscope of work remain the same as the previous contract.\nRecommended Action: City Council execute a contract, subject of final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce\nin an amount not to exceed $144,000 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 and $144,000 for Fiscal\nyear 2026-2027; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s\naction.
