SHAPSES]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will review an update on the evaluation of a\npotential new requirement to install emission control devices on\ncommercial ovens and consider directing Staff to develop and issue a\nRequest for Proposal for professional services to hire an engineering firm\nor consultant to provide technical assistance, conduct an in-depth analysis\nof emissions sources in West Hollywood, and draft a recommended\nupdate to the building or health code to require installation of emission\ncontrol devices on commercial ovens for Council consideration if\nwarranted.\nRECOMMENDATION: Direct Staff to develop and issue a Request for\nProposal for professional services to hire an engineering firm or consultant\nto provide technical assistance, conduct an in-depth analysis of emissions\nsources in West Hollywood, and assist in drafting a recommended\nordinance requiring the installation of emission control devices on\ncommercial ovens for Council consideration, if warranted.
