14. AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF HANDHELD RADIOS AND REPEATERS FOR\nPOLICE SERVICES, PUBLIC WORKS, AND PARKS & RECREATION\n(POLICE SERVICES)\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1) Authorize the Director of Police Services to issue a purchase order to CommLine,\nInc. in an amount not-to-exceed $87,277 to facilitate the procurement of (80)\nKenwood NX 1300 handheld radios, (3) Kenwood VP 8000 emergency radios,\nand (2) DMR/UHF repeaters including hardware, wiring materials, programming\nand installation; and\n2) Authorize a budget transfer from Parks and Recreation Contractual Services\n10106110-542050 in the amount of $10,000 and Public Works-Street\nMaintenance Supplies 10432001-521000 in the amount of $50,000 to Public\nSafety Officer Patrol-Miscellaneous Equipment Replacement 10102220-523030\nfor the above listed services; and\n3) Appropriate $27,277 from the General Fund to cover the remaining costs related\nto the above purchase and installation costs; and\n4) Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.
