15. AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO BALFOUR BEATTY CONSTRUCTION, LLC, FOR THE SHELL AND\nCORE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT AT 430 N. CAMDEN DRIVE; AND\nAPPROVAL OF A CORRESPONDING PURCHASE ORDER IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT\nOF $3,335,000; AND\nAPPROVAL OF PLANS THEREFOR WITH RESPECT TO DESIGN CRITERIA; AND\nFIND THE PROJECT EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT\n(CEQA).\nComment: Staff recommends that City Council move to approve the award of a contract to the lowest\nresponsible bidder, Balfour Beatty Construction, LLC, Inc. for the Shell and Core Improvements Project at\n430 N. Camden Drive in the amount of $2,900,000; and approve a construction contingency in the\namount of $435,000 (15%); and approve the plans as detailed in the bid documents, which are adopted\nand approved with respect to design criteria; and approve a purchase order in the not-to-exceed amount\nof $3,335,000; and find the project exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
