12.5\nAccount No:\n700-31-361-6145\nWorker’s Compensation Fund\nConsideration and Approval to Use Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Funds\nfor the Purchase of 1 LRAD 450 XL Long Range Communication Module, Operating\nEquipment, and System Accessories for Use by Patrol and the Special Weapons and\nTactics (SWAT) Team.\nRECOMMENDATION OF BU SINESS ITEM UNDER CONSIDERATION:\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Consider and approve the appropriation of Supplemental Law Enforcement Services\nFunds (SLESF) from Account No. 204-71-711-8132 to purchase one (1) LRAD 450XL\nLong Range Communication Module, operating equipment, and system accessories for\nuse by the Police Department’s Patrol and the SWAT Team in patrol and tactical\noperations, for an amount not-to-exceed $55,000;\n2. Consider and approve the purchase of the projectiles from Mallory Safety and Supply\nLLC, which utilized and follows U.S. Communities Contract No. 4400008495 valid\nOctober 1, 2024 thru September 30, 2028. A competitive bidding process is not required\nfor this purchase;\n3. Instruct the Finance Department to encumber the necessary funds to complete this\npurchase;\n4. Authorize the City Manager, or Chief of Police, to sign and approve all documents,\npurchase, or contractual modifications or adjustments; and\n5. Consider and approve the presentation of this purchase and identification of the funding\nsource before the local governing body (Honorable Mayor and City Council) as following\nthe guidelines set forth in State of California Assembly Bill 481 pertaining to the\nacquisition or intended use of military type equipment.\nTotal Cost: $55,000\nIs the cost of this item budgeted?
