12.6\nAccount No:\n204-71-711-8132\nSLESF\nConsideration and Approval to Use Asset Forfeiture Funds for the Purchase of 150\nFN303 PAVA/OC Pepper Powder Projectiles and 150 FN 303 Clear Impact Projectiles\nfor Use by Patrol and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.\nRECOMMENDATION OF BU SINESS ITEM UNDER CONSIDERATION:\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Consider and approve the appropriation of Asset Forfeiture funds from Account No. 25971-712-6218 to purchase 150 FN303 less-than-lethal PAVA/OC pepper powder\nprojectiles and 150 FN303 less-than-lethal clear impact projectiles for use by the El Monte\nPolice Department (the “Police Department”) Patrol and SWAT Team in patrol and\ntactical operations in an amount not-to-exceed $1,500;\n2. Consider and approve the purchase of the projectiles from ProForce Law Enforcement;\n3. Instruct the Finance Department to encumber the necessary funds to complete this\npurchase;\n4. Authorize the City Manager, or Chief of Police, to sign and approve all documents,\npurchase, or contractual modifications or adjustments; and\n5. Consider and approve the presentation of this purchase and identification of the funding\nsource before the local governing body (Honorable Mayor and City Council) as following\nthe guidelines set forth in State of California Assembly Bill 481 pertaining to the\nacquisition or intended use of military type equipment.\nTotal Cost: $1,500\nIs the cost of this item budgeted?
