C. ORDINANCE 719: ADOPTION OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF\nFORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONE MAP –\nINTRODUCTION AND FIRST READING\nThe California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has updated its Fire\nHazard Severity Zone maps for State Responsibility Areas and Local\nResponsibility Areas. In accordance with California Government Code Section\n51179, the City of San Gabriel is required to adopt these maps by ordinance.\nThe Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Adopted Budget includes the cost for required legal\npublication (Account No. 121-702-00-65-000) and codification (Account No.\n121-702-00-22-000) of the ordinance.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: The adoption of the\nupdated Fire Hazard Severity Zone map is exempt from CEQA Guidelines under\nSection 15061(b)(3).\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1.\nConduct the public hearing and discuss proposed Ordinance No. 719.\n2. Waive full reading and introduce Ordinance No. 719 by title only:\nAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN GABRIEL,\nCALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF\nFORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONE MAP\nFOR LOCAL RESPONSIBILITY AREAS\n3. Schedule second reading and adoption for the next regular meeting of the\nCity Council.
