A. COMPLIANCE REPORT PURSUANT TO ASSEMBLY BILL 2561\nAssembly Bill 2561 (AB 2561) requires public agencies to hold at least one\npublic hearing annually to report agencywide position vacancies, recruitment,\nand retention outcomes for the previous year, and discuss any challenges\nexperienced in hiring and retention during the previous year and efforts to\naddress those challenges and increase recruitment and retention outcomes. AB\n2561 further requires the hearing and presentation to be made prior to the\nadoption of the fiscal year budget. This report fulfills the City’s obligations\nunder AB 2561. There is no fiscal impact associated with this report on the City’s\nvacancies, recruitment, and retention efforts.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council receive and file this report in\ncompliance with Assembly Bill 2561.
