E.\n\nAccept Completed Improvements and Authorize Filing of Notice of\nCompletion for City Project No. 24013 - Mission Drive Pedestrian Hybrid\nBeacon System On March 12, 2024, the City Council awarded a\nconstruction contract with Calpromax Engineering, Inc. for the Mission\nDrive Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon System Project (Project No. 24013). The\nproject scope included furnishing and installing a pedestrian hybrid\nbeacon system, which encompassed the installation of traffic signal\npoles, communication conduits, a controller cabinet, the removal and\nreplacement of roadway pavement, and the signing and striping of the\ncrosswalk spanning Mission Drive at Newby Avenue. The final stages of\nthe project have since been implemented and completed. The crosswalk\nsignal was activated on April 15, 2025, marking the completion of all\nproject components. The total construction budget, inclusive of a 10%\nconstruction contingency, amounted to $357,692.50.\nRecommendation: That the City Council take the following actions:\n1.\n\nAccept project completion for the Mission Drive Pedestrian Hybrid\nBeacon System Project – Project No. 24013 as performed by\nCalpromax Engineering, Inc., with the final contract amount of\n$332,031.82; and\n\n2.\n\nAuthorize the recordation of Notice of Completion with the Los\nAngeles County Recorder and the release of retention funds 35 days\nthereafter.\n\nStaff Report
