D.\n\nPublic Safety Center Upgrades Project No. 31028 – Request for Additional\nAppropriation of Funds for Construction On October 8, 2024, the City Council\nawarded the Public Safety Center Upgrade project to Royal Construction Corp in\nthe amount of $2,626,800 ($2,388,000 construction and $238,800 10%\n\ncontingency). The construction is currently underway, but the project has faced\nseveral challenges from unforeseen conditions that require additional work\noutside of the original scope. Such work includes termite mitigation, a new fire\nalarm system, reconfiguration of office space for the new Public Safety Director,\nand others. The estimated cost of the additional work is $374,650, of which,\n$135,850 exceeds the project’s contingency. Additionally, staff is requesting\nCouncil approval to increase the project’s contingency by $120,000 to complete\nthe Public Safety Center Upgrade project.\nRecommendation: That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2025-30 amending the\nCity’s Fiscal Year 2024-25 CIP budget to appropriate additional funds in the amount of\n$255,850 in Public Facilities funding to cover change order costs and provide additional\ncontingency funds, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 CAPITAL\nIMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET AND APPROPRIATE NEW FUNDS FOR THE\nPUBLIC SAFETY CENTER UPGRADES PROJECT NO. 31028\nStaff Report
