13.q\nAWARD CONTRACT TO TRI-STAR CONTRACTING II, INC., FOR\nDEMOLITION AND PARTIAL REMOVAL OF WATER FEATURE AT ONE\nQUAIL PLACE APARTMENTS, PROJECT NO. CHA00012\nRECOMMENDATION:\n1. Award Contract to Tri-Star Contracting II, Inc., for demolition and\npartial removal of water feature at One Quail Place Apartments, in\nan amount not to exceed $128,362.\n2.\nAuthorize the Director of Finance to set aside a 20% contingency\nin the amount of $25,672 for unforeseen circumstances.\n3.\nAuthorize Special Legal Counsel to make necessary non-monetary\nchanges to the contract.\n4.\nAuthorize the Executive Director to approve and execute the\ncontract, change orders up to contingency amount, amendments,\nand any other documents necessary to effectuate this action in\naccordance with Section 3.30.170(B) of the Palm Desert Municipal\nCode.\n5.\nAuthorize the Executive Director to execute the Notice of\nCompletion and the City Clerk file the same upon satisfactory\ncompletion of the project.\nAWARD CONTRACT TO GARLAND/DBS, INC., FOR ROOF\nREPLACEMENTS AT LAS SERENAS, NEIGHBORS AND PUEBLOS,\nPROJECT NO. CHA00011\nRECOMMENDATION:\n1. Award the construction contract to Garland/DBS, Inc., for Roof\nReplacements at Las Serenas, Neighbors, and Pueblos (Project\nNo. CHA00011) in an amount not to exceed $4,594,147.\n2.\nAuthorize the Director of Finance to set aside contingency in the\namount of $459,415 for unforeseen conditions.\n3.\nAuthorize Director of Finance to appropriate $369,415 from\nHousing Authority Reserve to Account No. 8714195-4331100.\n4.\nAuthorize the Chairperson and/or the Executive Director to\nexecute the Agreement and written requests for change orders up\nto the contingency amount, amendments, and any documents\nnecessary to effectuate the actions taken herewith.\n5.\nAuthorize the Chairperson and/or Executive Director to execute\nthe Notice of Completion (NOC) and the City Clerk to file the NOC\nupon satisfactory completion of the Project.\n345\n415\n7\nPalm Desert City Council Meeting Agenda\nJune 12, 2025
