11J. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER\nINTO A REGIONAL CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY\nWASTEWATER AUTHORITY (SOCWA), NORTHSTAR CHEMICAL, INC., AND\nSOCWA ENTITIES FOR SUPPLY OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE TO THE WATER\nRECLAMATION PLANT FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT\nStaff Recommendation\nAdopt Resolution No. 25-93, which will:\n1. Authorize the City to enter into the regional contract with South Orange\nCounty Wastewater Authority (SOCWA), NorthStar Chemical, Inc., and\nSouth Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) entities for a\none-year term for the supply of Sodium Hydroxide to the City’s Water\nReclamation Plant.\n2. Approve, and authorize the City Manager to execute, Contract No. C25-\n34, by and between the City of San Clemente and South Orange County\nWastewater Authority (SOCWA), NorthStar Chemical, Inc., and South\nOrange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) entities providing for the\nsupply of Sodium Hydroxide to the City’s Water Reclamation Plant, in an\namount not to exceed $37,320 for the initial one-year term.\n3. Authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to approve up to three\none-year renewals to the contract for amounts not to exceed the approved\nbudget amounts for this chemical in each appropriate fiscal year.
