13.\nAWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF A NEW RESCUE AMBULANCE – F2M25-6A,\nC2M25-26, M2M25-85\nOn May 13, 2024, the City Council approved the acceptance of a grant in the amount of\n$450,000.00 for the purchase of a Fire Department ambulance from Representative Judy\nChu and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fiscal Year\n2024 Economic Development Initiative (EDI) – Community Project Funding grant. The Fire\nDepartment’s ambulance RA76 is over seventeen years old and does not have the\nmodern technology and safety features desired in a frontline ambulance. Staff is seeking\nto purchase a new ambulance to replace the aging vehicle through a cooperative purchase\nagreement. A cooperative purchase is allowable per Alhambra Municipal Code Section\n3.36.080(B)(3). Sourcewell awarded contract #122123-RVG on March 2, 2024 – a\ncontract that does not expire until February 28, 2028. Sourcewell bid specifications\nincluded an option for purchasing ambulances and emergency medical service vehicles.\nStaff is recommending purchasing the rescue ambulance utilizing this option.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Professional Sales and Service L.C.\nin an amount not to exceed $449,918.01 for the purchase of a new rescue ambulance;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
