12.\nAWARD CONTRACT: MAIN STREET AND FOURTH STREET SEWER MAIN\nREPLACEMENT PROJECT - PHASE 2 – F2M22-53, N2M25-36, C2M25-25, M2M25-84\nOn March 24, 2025, the City Council approved the distribution of Notice Inviting Bids for\nthe Main Street and 4th Street Sewer Main Replacement Project – Phase 2. On May 15,\n2025, the City received and opened seven bids for the Project ranging from $2,555,937.50\n(CEM Construction Corp.) to $7,996,324 (Mladen Buntich Construction Co. Inc.). CEM\nConstruction Corp. submitted the lowest bid. However, CEM Construction Corp. has\nsubmitted bid relief letter due to clerical error. Therefore, the bid from CEM Construction\nCorp. has been withdrawn. The second lowest bidder, Ramona, Inc. ($2,941,665.50) was\ndeemed the lowest responsive bidder. Staff reviewed the bid submitted by Ramona, Inc.,\nand found it to be in full compliance and conformance with the project specifications.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra and\nRamona Inc., for the Main Street and Fourth Street Sewer Main Replacement Project Phase 2 in an amount not to exceed $2,941,665.50; direct the Finance Director to\nappropriate funds in the amount of $292,609.30 from Sewer Fund Balance; and, direct\nstaff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
