14.\nAMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT\nCALIFORNIA ADVOCACY, LLC – F2M22-19, C2M22-38, M2M25-86\nWITH\nThe City of Alhambra continues to be actively engaged in monitoring legislation and policy\ndevelopments at the state level that directly impact municipal services and operations.\nCalifornia Advocacy, LLC has provided the City with professional government relations\nconsulting for several years. Their support has been instrumental in representing\nAlhambra’s interests in Sacramento and ensuring the City stays informed about legislation\naffecting local government agencies. The existing contract (Contract No. C2M22-38) was\napproved in 2022 for a three-year term at a total cost of $180,000.00. Staff recommends\nextending the contract for an additional three one-year terms to ensure continued support\nfor ongoing legislative matters. California Advocacy, LLC has a proven track record of\nconsistent representation and a strong understanding of Alhambra’s ongoing and\nemerging priorities. Under Section 3.38.050 of the City of Alhambra Municipal Code, the\nCity Council, at its discretion, may dispense with the competitive process when it is\ndeemed advantageous for the City to do so.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve an amendment to the contract with\nCalifornia Advocacy, LLC, subject to final language approval by the City Manager and City\nAttorney; extend the performance period by three one-year terms through June 30, 2028,\nin the amount of $60,000 per year; authorize the City Manager, or their designee, to\nexecute the extension subject to satisfactory performance; and, direct staff to undertake\nthe steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
