F.6.\nREAFFIRM WEST HOLLYWOOD AS A FILM-FRIENDLY CITY [D.\nHANG, C. BYERS, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: In recent years, the Los Angeles region – including the City of\nWest Hollywood - has seen a drop in entertainment industry production.\nThis item reaffirms the City of West Hollywood as a film-friendly city and\ndirects staff in the City’s Film Office to implement a five-part series of\nrecommendations that will continue to position West Hollywood as a\npremier destination for production.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: Direct staff in the City’s Film Office, part of the\nCity’s Communications Department, to implement a five-part series of\nrecommendations, as follows: 1) Expedite permit process improvements in\nworkplan; 2) Promote incentives that attract production; 3) Support\nlegislation that promotes production; 4) Continue to enhance key\npartnerships with the entertainment industry; and 5) Deepen promotion of\nWest Hollywood as a prime filming destination.
