A. DUMPLING AND BEER FESTIVAL: 2024 RECAP, ANNIVERSARY HIGHLIGHT,\nHIRING AN EVENT OPERATOR AND PARTNERING WITH A NON-PROFIT\nThe Dumpling and Beer Festival was introduced in 2015 to showcase the\nculinary aspect of the City and attract tourism to the Mission District. Over the\nyears, the festival has grown into a community event that celebrates diversity\nand culture through popular food and drink. Each year, the event attracts\naround 5,000-7,000 visitors, and this number continues to grow. This report\nprovides a summary of the planning efforts that contribute to the festival’s\nyearly success, presents the rebrand for the 10th Anniversary, and provides an\nopportunity to discuss the possibility of hiring an even operator, and partnering\nwith a non-profit organization for the event.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council receive the report on the recap and\nfuture festivals, approve the Agreement with Asian Youth Center for the 2025\nDumpling and Beer Festival, and authorize the City Manager or their designee\nto execute said agreement.
