2. Resolution establishing a Preferential Parking District on Liberty Boulevard\nfrom Garden View Ave to South Gate Avenue\nFollowing the conclusion of the public hearing, the City Council will consider: (PW)\na. Adopting a Resolution approving and establishing a Preferential Parking District on\nLiberty Boulevard from Garden View Avenue to South Gate Avenue to prohibit parking\nbetween the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM;\nb. Directing the Public Works Department to install parking restriction signage within 90\ndays of the approval of the Resolution;\nc. Directing the City Clerk to notify the property owners on Liberty Boulevard of the\nMarch 11, 2025, voting results; and\nd. Appropriating $3,000 in Gas Tax Funds to install the parking restrictions.\nDocuments:\nItem 2 Report 03112025.pdf\nComments From The Audience - Non-Agenda Items\nDuring this time, members of the public may address the City Council regarding any items not\nlisted on the agenda and within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council and not on\nthis agenda. Comments from the audience will be limited to three (3) minutes per speaker;\nunless authorized by the Mayor, the time limit may not be extended by utilizing another\nmember's time. There will be no debate or action on items not listed on the agenda unless\nauthorized by law. The collective initial period of time for comments from the audience shall\nbe limited to 45 minutes. Any speaker that did not get a chance to speak during this segment\ndue to the 45-minute limitations will be able to speak at the end of the meeting prior to\nadjournment.\nNote: The City Council desires to provide all members of the public with the opportunity to\naddress the Council. Nevertheless, obscene language, comments intended to\ndisrupt/interfere, other actions which disrupt the progress of the meeting or slanderous\ncomments will not be tolerated and may result in ejection and/or may constitute a violation of\nSouth Gate Municipal Code Section1.04.110.\nReports And Comments From City Officials\nDuring this time, members of the City Council will report on matters pertaining to their service\non various intergovernmental boards and commissions as a representative of the City\npursuant to Assembly Bill 1234. City Council Members will also have an opportunity to\ncomment on matters not on the agenda.\nConsent Calendar Items\nAgenda Items 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are Consent Calendar Items. All items including\nOrdinances, Resolutions and Contracts, may be approved by adoption of the Consent\nCalendar, individually and collectively by one (1) motion. There will be no separate discussion\nof these items unless Members of the City Council, the public, or staff request that specific\nitems be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate discussion and action. Members\nof the public are permitted to speak on any item listed but their time period is limited to three\n(3) minutes in total.\nAny motion to introduce or adopt an Ordinance on the Consent Calendar shall be: (1) a\nmotion to waive the reading of the Ordinance and introduce the Ordinance or (2) a motion to\nwaive the reading of the Ordinance and adopt the Ordinance, as appropriate.
