15.\nAUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES TO UPDATE THE\nSEWER MASTER PLAN – F2M25-44, RFP2M25-12\nThe City of Alhambra existing sewer collection system is made up of a network of gravity\nsewers, lift stations, and force mains. The gravity system consists of approximately 129\nmiles of pipe, seven lift stations with 7,800 feet of forced mains, and 2,800 manholes and\ncleanouts. The Sewer Master Plan is to provide an evaluation of the City’s sewer collection\nsystem to provide a framework for undertaking the construction of new and replacement\nfacilities in an effective manner. The Sewer Master Plan is intended to serve as a general,\nflexible, and open-ended document that requires periodic updates to consider changes in\nsewage generation, land development, infrastructure needs, and capital costs. The Sewer\nMaster Plan evaluates the capacity and condition of the City’s sanitary sewer system and\nestablishes the basis for the City’s sewer system Capital Improvement Program (CIP).\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve the distribution of a Request for\nProposals (RFP) for Professional Engineering Services to update the Sewer Master Plan,\nwith proposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025; and, direct staff\nto undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
