11.2\nUse of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) Technology by\nthe Bell Gardens Police Department and Response to Public\nConcerns About Data Sharing\nRECOMMENDATION: It is staff's recommendation that the City\nCouncil receive and file the attached informational report regarding\nthe implementation of Flock Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR)\ntechnology by the Bell Gardens Police Department.\nCONCLUSION: The City of Bell Gardens Police Department considers\nALPR technology a valuable tool for protecting our community,\nrecovering stolen property, and solving serious crimes. The system is\nutilized with caution, under strict oversight, and in compliance with\nstate law. BGPD is dedicated to transparency, community\nengagement, and ensuring that this technology is not used for\nimmigration enforcement or in ways that infringe on civil liberties.\nFISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with receiving\nthis report.\nATTACHMENTS:\nNone.
