6. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICPATION IN THE 2022 NATIONAL\nSETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS WITH TEVA, ALLERGAN, CVS, WALGREENS AND\nWALMART, AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE AND EXECUTE\nSIMILAR NATIONAL OPIOID SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS IN THE FUTURE ON\nBEHALF OF THE CITY\nPurpose: Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute national opioid\nsettlement agreement documents to access funding for remediating impacts of the\nopioid crisis as well as authorize the City Manager to approve and execute similar\nopioid-related settlement agreements in the future. Settlement amounts are in an\namount to be determined, but will be primarily allocated toward opioid abatement\nactivities.\nRecommended Action: 1) Adopt a resolution authorizing participation in the 2022\nnational opioid settlement agreements with Teva, Allergan, CVS, Walgreens, and\nWalmart related to the opioid crisis; 2) Authorize the City Manager to execute the\nagreements and take any additional, necessary actions, as needed, for the City to\nparticipate in the settlements; and 3) Authorize the City Manager to approve and execute\nsimilar opioid settlement agreements in the future on behalf of the City.
