a) REPORT CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE AND CERTAIN OTHER\n24-0279 RESOLUTIONS NECESSARY FOR HOLDING\nTHE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION\nTO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024\n(City Clerk Myra Maravilla)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends Council:\n1. Adopt a resolution calling and giving notice of the election for certain officers\n(Attachment 1);\n2. Adopt a resolution to permit a special runoff election for elective officers in the event of\na tie vote (Attachment 2);\n3. Adopt a resolution to request the County of Los Angeles consolidate the City of\nHermosa Beach General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election and\nrender full services to the conduct of the election (Attachment 3); and\n4. Adopt a resolution to adopt regulations for candidates for election office pertaining to\ncandidate statements (Attachment 4).\n15. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS\nThis is the time for Councilmembers to schedule future agenda items and to ask questions about the\nstatus of previously approved future agenda items. No discussion, debate, or public comment will be\ntaken. Councilmembers should consider the city's work plan when considering new items.
