63. County Code, Title 8 - Consumer Protection, Business and Wage\nRegulations\nOrdinance for introduction amending County Code, Title 8 - Consumer\nProtection, Business and Wage Regulations Chapter 8.52 Rent\nStabilization and Tenant Protections requiring that any tenant in the\nunincorporated areas of the County presented with a voluntary buyout\nagreement be offered an amount equal to or greater than the relocation\nassistance amount a tenant would be entitled to under a no-fault eviction,\nclarifying that tenants have an affirmative defense to an unlawful detainer\naction should a landlord fail to provide a copy of the notice of termination or\neviction to the Department of Business and Consumer Affairs as required\nunder Chapter 8.52, requiring that for any at-fault termination of tenancy,\nthe termination notice set forth specific facts to permit a determination of the\ndate, place, witnesses, and circumstances concerning the eviction reason,\nincreasing the current 3% rental increase cap to 4% effective January 1,\n2024, and extending it through June 30, 2024; and providing additional\ntechnical or clarifying language as recommended by Department of\nBusiness and Consumer Affairs and County Counsel.
