5. Requesting an Investigation into the Los Angeles County Fire\nDepartment Foundation\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Instruct County\nCounsel to investigate the Los Angeles County Fire Department Foundation\n(Fire Foundation) and report back to the Board in writing in 15 days with a\nlegal analysis of the following:\nHow the Fire Foundation received delinquent status from the\nCalifornia Department of Justice;\nWhat delinquent status means for the past, present, and future\noperations of the Fire Foundation;\nHow and why this status was not revealed to the Board of\nSupervisors until November 2023; and\nIf any deliberate or unintentional wrongdoing has occurred; and\nInstruct the Auditor-Controller to conduct an investigative audit of the Fire\nFoundation revenues and expenditures since the inception of the Los\nAngeles County Fire Department’s affiliation agreement with the Fire\nFoundation on May 17, 2016; and authorize the Auditor-Controller, in\nconsultation with County Counsel, to issue and enforce subpoenas for\nrecords and witness testimony to support a full and thorough audit.\n(23-4192)\nAttachments: Motion by Supervisor Hahn\nPublic Comment/Correspondence
