26. Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Affiliation\nAgreement\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Health Services to execute an\namendment to the affiliation agreement (Agreement) with Charles R. Drew\nUniversity of Medicine and Science (CDU), for the continued funding of the\nresident physician training programs in family medicine and psychiatry at\nvarious County operated and contracted facilities, and summer Pathways to\nHealth, Meaningful Health Careers Academy program for high school\nstudents interested in health careers, establish a partnership with CDU to\ndevelop a new resident physician training program in surgery, effective for\nthe period of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, and increase the\nmaximum annual obligation by $1,539,605 from $3,264,269 to $4,803,874\nfor the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, with funding included\nin each Department’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 final budget and to be\nrequested for future years; execute amendments to revise Agreement\nlanguage to improve or update clinical or administrative operations within\nthe Agreement’s scope of services and annually adjust funding accordingly\nup to 10% above or below the FY 2023-24 maximum obligation, effective\nupon amendment execution; execute future amendments to add, delete,\nand/or change certain terms and conditions as required by Federal or State\nlaw or regulation, accreditation requirements, and standards, County policy,\nthe Board, and/or Chief Executive Office; authorize the Directors of Health\nServices, Mental Health, and Public Health to execute a separate\nagreement with CDU to provide the services and funding of each\nDepartment’s programs under the current Agreement, effective July 1, 2024\nand amendments to such agreements under the delegated authority\nprovided above.
