4. Providing Free Gun Locks at Los Angeles County Hospitals\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Hahn and Solis: Instruct the\nDirector of Public Health, through the Office of Violence Prevention, in\ncoordination with the Director of Health Services, to explore placing gun\nlocks free of charge for the public at County hospitals, and report back to\nthe Board in writing in 45 days on the number of hospitals and the number\nof locks required for implementation, a proposed process and plan for\nimplementation that includes a timeline to secure the locks, development of\neducational campaigns, and identification of a distribution strategy, and any\nresources required to purchase and provide gun safety cable locks, gun\nsafes, and/or lock boxes.
