11. Proclaiming the Month of October 2023 as "Disability Employment\nAwareness Month" in the County of Los Angeles\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Proclaim the month of\nOctober 2023 as “Disability Employment Awareness Month” throughout Los\nAngeles County; instruct the Director of Personnel to continue to advance\neducation and advocacy efforts related to disability compliance for\nDepartmental disability management and compliance coordinators, supervisors,\nand managers, and hold the Annual Disability Employment Symposium during\nDisability Employment Awareness Month; instruct all Department Heads to join\nthe effort to educate their employees and supervisors on their roles and\nresponsibilities in the disability compliance process; and encourage all\nmanagers to learn about the disability process and protection of disabled\nemployees under the law, and ensure that they exemplify the County’s\ncommitment to supporting and ensuring timely access to the disability process\nas needed.
