59. Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant Program Grant Award\nRecommendation: Authorize the Sheriff, as an agent for the County, to accept\na grant award from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), in\nthe amount of $6,548,325, with no match requirement, to provide officer\nwellness and mental health services to the Department's sworn officers, for the\ngrant period of July 1, 2022 through December 1, 2025; execute and submit all\nrequired grant documents including, but not limited to, applications,\nagreements, modifications, extensions, annual expenditure reports, final\nreports, and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of\nthe BSCC grant; approve interim ordinance authority, pursuant to County Code,\nSection 6.06.020, for seven additional positions to enhance and expand\nwellness services to officers, subject to allocation by the Chief Executive\nOfficer; and authorize the Sheriff to take the following actions: (Sheriff’s\nDepartment) APPROVE\nApply for and submit a grant application to the BSCC for the grant in\nfuture fiscal years, and execute all required grant application documents;\nAccept all grant awards for the grant in future fiscal years, if awarded by\nthe BSCC, and execute all required grant award documents including,\nbut not limited to, agreements, modifications, extensions, annual\nexpenditure reports, final reports, and payment requests, which may be\nnecessary for completion of the BSCC grant; and\nDeposit the funds received from the BSCC into an interest-bearing\naccount and utilize any interest earned on expenditures for the grant.\n(23-3337)\nAttachments: Board Letter\nPublic Comment/Correspondence\nOrdinance for Adoption
