24. Proclaiming September 11, 2023 as "Patriot Day and National Day of\nService and Remembrance" in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Proclaim September 11,\n2023 as “Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance”\nthroughout Los Angeles County, recognizing our first responders - firefighters,\nlaw enforcement officers, emergency workers, and service members - for the\nsupport and for the vital services they provide to all our communities; instruct all\nCounty Departments to display the flag of the United States and the County Flag\nat half-staff on Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance, in\nhonor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001; and call\nupon the people of the County to participate in community service in honor of\nthose our Nation lost, to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and\nactivities, including remembrance services, and observe a moment of silence\nbeginning at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time, to honor the innocent victims who\nperished as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
